Is Abhishek Sharma in a relationship?

Current relationship status according to social media

As of early 2025, no official confirmation of a relationship has come from Abhishek Sharma or any accredited source. Fashion entrepreneur Laila Faisal, a London-educated co-founder of the luxury label LRF Designs, has been repeatedly associated with him. Hindustan Times reports that dating rumours intensified after she shared a story celebrating his 135-run knock against England and attended his sister Komal Sharma’s wedding events in Ludhiana.

Rumours and dating history

Both Economic Times and Times of India describe Laila Faisal as a “rumoured girlfriend” and explicitly note that neither party has made any public statement confirming the relationship. Social media fan forums echo this, with some users mocking early marriage rumours as unfounded gossip.

“Indian cricketer Abhishek Sharma has been making headlines not only for his explosive performances on the field but also for his rumoured relationship with Laila Faisal.”

The implication: Public evidence is thin. The relationship with Laila Faisal is widely reported but officially unconfirmed. Any claims of a settled partnership or marriage are speculative.

What happened with Abhishek Sharma?

Record-breaking 135* in T20I cricket

In a T20I against England, Abhishek Sharma smashed 135 off 54 balls, the highest individual score for India in the format at that time (NDTV Sports). The innings featured a barrage of sixes and helped him become the first Indian to hit 100 T20I sixes in a calendar year, according to NDTV. The BCCI adds that he became the second-fastest Indian to 1,000 T20I runs, behind only Virat Kohli.

Career milestones and news

Abhishek first attracted major attention by captaining India Under-19 to the Youth Asia Cup title in 2016, finishing as the tournament’s second-highest wicket-taker (Hindustan Times). He was part of India’s 2018 Under-19 World Cup-winning squad. In the IPL, his breakout 2024 season included a 63 off 23 balls for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Mumbai Indians (Hindustan Times). By July 2025, he had climbed to No.1 in the ICC Men’s T20I batting rankings, only the third Indian to do so (BCCI).

What to watch: His 2024-2025 trajectory—from domestic T20 dominance to ICC No.1 ranking—shows a rapid rise. The key question is whether he can sustain that form across formats.

Does Abhishek Sharma come from a rich family?

Public information about Abhishek Sharma’s family wealth is limited. His father’s profession is not widely reported in mainstream sources. Media profiles focus on his cricketing journey rather than family background. A handful of social media posts and tabloid features suggest a comfortable upbringing in Amritsar, but no verified details about parental occupations, property, or inheritance exist in the sources reviewed.

The BCCI and Hindustan Times profiles emphasize his mentorship by former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh at the Punjab Cricket Association academy, indicating structured support but not necessarily family wealth. His sister Komal Sharma’s wedding events in Ludhiana were covered in celebrity pages, but those do not provide concrete financial data.

The pattern: The absence of reliable data on family wealth means any claim about his family’s financial status is speculation. Verified information covers only his professional achievements and early academy training.
