Has Caleb McLaughlin ever dated anyone?

Caleb McLaughlin has been remarkably open about his single status. In a January 2024 Cosmopolitan article surveying the Stranger Things cast’s relationships, he was described as “seemingly single” and quoted saying, “I don’t have a girlfriend.” Elaborating in an interview tied to the film The Book of Clarence, he told the same outlet that he had “never had a girlfriend”—only been in “situations”—and that it was hard to have a girlfriend at this stage in his life (IMDb News).

“I don’t have a girlfriend. I mean, I’ve been in situations, but I’ve never had a girlfriend. It’s hard. It’s hard having a girlfriend right now.”

At the Stranger Things season 3 premiere, he told Extra TV that while his character Lucas was dating on the show, he himself was not dating in real life. The pattern is consistent across multiple interviews: McLaughlin prioritizes his career and personal growth over romantic relationships.

Caleb McLaughlin’s past relationships

Beyond the blanket statements above, there are no credible reports of him ever being in a public relationship. Viral TikTok and Facebook clips that claim to list “ex‑girlfriends” or “dating rules” are largely repackages of his Cosmopolitan interview rather than verified new information (TikTok @eileenstar01). Those clips should be treated as fan commentary, not fact.

Current dating status

As of early 2025, no credible source suggests he is in a relationship. He remains single by his own account, and his social media feeds do not hint at a partner.

Are Sadie Sink and Caleb McLaughlin still friends?

Yes—and their friendship predates Stranger Things. In a IMDb News feature, both actors described meeting years before the show through Broadway theatre and said their bond has only strengthened while working on the series. A friendship test video shows them recounting that first meeting and emphasizing that their off‑screen relationship is supportive and distinct from the on‑screen romance between Lucas and Max.

“We’re all like brothers and sisters. We’re usually loving each other, but sometimes we have stupid arguments.”

Caleb McLaughlin, to People Magazine

Beyond Sink, McLaughlin has spoken warmly about the entire Stranger Things ensemble. In a People interview, he called the cast “like brothers and sisters.” He has also highlighted the friendship between Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and Lucas as one of the show’s most underrated dynamics, telling SFX Magazine (via Yahoo Entertainment) that “Mike and Lucas’ friendship is underrated.”

On‑screen vs off‑screen bond

While Lucas and Max date on Stranger Things, McLaughlin and Sink maintain a platonic friendship. He has explicitly distinguished his real‑life single status from his character’s romance.

Recent public interactions

As of early 2025, both have appeared together at red‑carpet events and shared supportive social‑media posts. No public friction has been reported.

How much did Caleb McLaughlin get paid?

Exact figures are not publicly confirmed, but industry estimates place his net worth in the millions. Wikipedia does not disclose his salary. A Facebook fan post and a TikTok net-worth comparison cite a Google‑aggregated estimate of $5 million. These are the most commonly quoted numbers, but they are speculative.

McLaughlin’s earning potential is grounded in his leading role on a global hit series plus film work such as High Flying Bird (2019) and Concrete Cowboy (2020) (Wikipedia). However, no audited financial disclosures or official statements support any precise net‑worth figure.

Salary details per season have not been made public. Cast members reportedly renegotiated contracts after the first season, but exact amounts remain confidential.

Overall net worth

Industry databases and fan pages consistently suggest a figure around $5 million, but this is unverified. The only safe statement is that he has earned substantial income from a decade‑long run on one of Netflix’s biggest series plus supporting film roles.

Comparison with other cast members

While precise numbers are unavailable, castmates such as Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, and Noah Schnapp are also reported to have multi‑million‑dollar net worths from the show and endorsements. Without verified data, any direct comparison is speculative.
