Is Woo Do-hwan in a Relationship?
No public confirmation of a current relationship exists. Woo Do-hwan has not publicly disclosed his dating history or current romantic status, maintaining a notable level of privacy around his personal life.
In July 2024, South Korean media outlets reported dating rumors connecting Woo Do-hwan with actress Lee Yoo-mi, who co-starred with him in the Netflix series Mr. Plankton (2024). Neither Woo Do-hwan nor Lee Yoo-mi confirmed these rumors through official statements or social media, and the speculation subsided without further evidence (South China Morning Post).
Prior to that, no confirmed relationships have been publicly attributed to Woo Do-hwan. The actor has largely avoided discussing romance in interviews, focusing instead on craft and career development.
What this means
Fans seeking confirmation about Woo Do-hwan’s romantic life will find no verified statements from the actor or his agency. The Lee Yoo-mi rumors of 2024 remain unconfirmed speculation.
What Languages Can Woo Do-hwan Speak?
Korean is Woo Do-hwan’s native language, reflecting his South Korean upbringing and the overwhelming majority of his on-screen work being Korean-language productions (Wikipedia).
Publicly available sources, including fan wikis and entertainment databases, do not include official statements about his English proficiency. Given that he has appeared in Netflix productions distributed globally, industry observers have speculated about basic conversational English for promotional appearances, but no confirmed evidence of language abilities beyond Korean appears in verified sources.
His Instagram bio is written entirely in Korean, reinforcing Korean as his primary language of expression.
The catch
Without an official interview or statement from Woo Do-hwan about languages, any claim about English or other language abilities remains speculative rather than verified.
Is Woo Do-hwan a Real Boxer?
Woo Do-hwan is not a professional boxer. He trained in boxing specifically for his role as Kim Hoon in the Netflix action series Bloodhounds (2023), where his character is depicted as a former boxer caught in a dangerous usury ring.
The physical transformation he underwent for Bloodhounds drew attention from critics and fans alike. According to reviews, Woo Do-hwan underwent intensive training to portray the role authentically, contributing to the series’ gritty realism. ScreenRant noted that his performance showcased “physicality and intensity,” raising questions about whether his on-screen abilities translated to real-world boxing skill (ScreenRant).
His boxing training was confined to role preparation. No evidence indicates he has competed in amateur or professional boxing matches, trained at a boxing gym beyond his drama preparation, or pursued boxing as a personal fitness discipline outside of filming.
The pattern
Woo Do-hwan’s approach mirrors his broader career strategy: investing significant effort in physical and emotional preparation for specific roles rather than maintaining a consistent skill outside the production context.
Has Woo Do-hwan Ever Talked About His Past Relationships?
Woo Do-hwan has rarely discussed past relationships in interviews. Entertainment coverage around 2017 captured him emphasizing his dedication to acting after years of small supporting roles, framing his breakthrough as the result of persistence rather than discussing personal matters (Soompi).
A YouTube video titled “All The Girls Woo Do Hwan Has Dated” exists, but such user-generated content relies on unverified speculation rather than confirmed sources. Fan wikis and entertainment databases list no verified past romantic partners.
His privacy regarding personal relationships aligns with practices common among many South Korean actors, who typically disclose personal matters only when necessary or when confirmation from an agency is provided.
The trade-off
The absence of public discussion about past relationships means fan-curated lists lack verified confirmation. Claims in speculative videos or fan discussions should not be treated as factual records.
“A confusing start to this Korean series and a lack of chemistry between the leads makes Mr. Plankton on Netflix a far from riveting watch.”

– ScreenRant writer, Entertainment journalist
